Introduction to TaiChi

TaiChiClass7-19-10sm.jpgInstructor – David Deich

Introduction to TaiChi presents the complimentary Chinese arts of Qigong and TaiChi. Qigong provides the foundation of balance and energy movement that is used in the art of TaiChi Chuan.

Both arts use a series of gentle movements to open up the body’s energy channels and balance the flow of bio-energy or Qi (pronounced “chee”). The movements reduce stress and have been shown to improve virtually every area of physical, mental and emotional health.

Two simple routines are taught – The Eight Pieces of Brocade and TaiChi Hun Yuan Chuang. Both routines allow participants to experience the benefits of TaiChi and Qigong more quickly and in a less complicated format than longer routines.

Participants should wear loose fitting clothing and comfortable shoes.
